MEMBERSHIP

Every Christ-follower is called to belong to the local church. Membership is about more than attending church meetings. Members commit to joining a spiritual family that provides encouragement and support. They are called to a higher degree of responsibility, service and sacrifice. Our staff and leaders commit to assist our members with care, counsel, prayer and teaching.

We hope that, as God leads, you make a covenant to be part of our church family.

WHY BECOME A MEMBER?

We believe that in order to fulfill the Great Commission, the local church is charged with equipping believers with the teachings that Scripture provides. In Jesus, we have become the Body of Christ and we strive to encourage and lift one another up in prayer each time we meet.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Hebrews 10:24-25, ESV

STARTING POINT MEMBERSHIP CLASS

The first step in membership is attending the Starting Point Membership Class. Starting Point is offered every six to nine weeks on Sunday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

At Starting Point you will meet with church Staff and Deacons, hear an overview of our vision and values, and learn what it means to be a member at EBC.

EBC’s members commit to serve through ministry, protect the unity of EBC, share responsibility by serving, pray for one another, and invite the unchurched to attend. Members of EBC support the testimony of the church through attendance, support the vision of the leadership through giving, and pray for and invest in others within the church and those who do not yet know Christ.

If your child/student is also interested in membership, we encourage you to register and bring them with you to Starting Point. Regular children’s and youth activities will also be available.
