NEWS

Parents,
Promotion Sunday is coming soon! On Sunday, July 24th, 2016, your child will be moving up to a new grade level and that means some of your children will be moving into the Hangar or into adult worship with you. Help us celebrate this milestone event in your child’s life by preparing your child for this new adventure.
For those of you with upcoming Kindergartners, this transition occurs gradually over a few Sundays to make the transition easier. This Sunday, July 3, in each morning service, a leader from the Hangar will go over to the 4-year-old room in Discovery Park and meet the children. The following two Sundays, July 10 and July 17, their preschool leader will escort them to Hangar 252 for our worship. Finally, on promotion Sunday, July 24, you will go directly to the Hangar, check them in, and escort them down the right hallway (Concourse B) to Hangar 252. They will also now be considered Kindergarteners for VBS and will participate in all VBS activities.
For those of you with 5th grade children, your child will join you in adult services on Sunday mornings starting promotion Sunday, July 24th. For VBS, Michael Rogers has something planned for your new middle schooler that will help them get to know their new leaders for the next school year. Dates and time of a special event for middle schoolers and parents communicated to you soon in the upcoming weeks
We look forward to helping your child make this transition as smooth as possible. Let us know if there is anything we can do to further help with this transition.

THINK ABOUT THIS

FINDING LIFE AS A PARENT

One of the best things you can give your kids is a a full tank. The reality is that life constantly empties our tank. How do you refill it?

As we talked about in a past post, more than a few parents have probably leaned too heavily into their kids as a source of life, having their own happiness overly tied into the happiness and fortunes of their kids. If your kids are your main source of happiness and fulfillment, you might want to rethink that.

To get us started, here’s a question:

When was the last time you did something that gave you life that didn’t involve your kids?
